A bit more about BirdFest

Once on a old quail plantation farm…there was a mule named Bird…

Bird was a grand old mare who was beloved by all…she was quiet and kind and yet worked hard when she needed to, which really, wasn’t often.

When she passed, she was greatly missed by fans and friends, so Barrett and his dad mounted her head and neck to forever honor her memory.

Some say it might be odd to have a bluegrass music festival named after a mule…who is named “Bird” …but to those who knew her and where there in the beginnings of “BirdFest” 19 years ago don’t think it is odd in the least bit. We hope you’ll be one of those friends who also doesn’t think it is odd and who returns annually to celebrate amazing bluegrass music in a family-friendly atmosphere surrounded by good memories and good people.

Bird Gives Back

For many years, BirdFest has been bringing music lovers and folks together to enjoy an unforgettable weekend of good times and great music. BirdFest continues to give back to the community by partnering with local charities and non-profits. Attendees can come to BirdFest knowing that their good time directly improves the quality of life for our communities residents.

  • Family-friendly atmosphere
  • Plenty of kids’ activities and food trucks

  • Options to bring your own food and drink (just no glass, okay?)
  • The best bluegrass lineup ANYWHERE.
